The company E.E.Tarr & Son
originated over 75 years ago as a family business. In 1987,
Kaymac bought the business and now it is trading as
E.E.Tarr Springs, a division of National Radiator
Manufacturers (Pty) Ltd.
The company focuses on supplying the correct product at
the correct price on the due date. The SABS ISO 9001
Quality certificate has been awarded to the Company and we
are proud of our achievements in respect of customer quality.
Our production capabilities for large orders are limited to
wire sizes of 0,2mm to 7mm
diameter wires.
We are able to manufacture smaller orders up to a
12.5mm diameter wire. The majority of orders are made using a black
carbon spring steel but we also manufacture using a stainless
302/304 spring quality wire. All raw material is imported and is
of a very good quality which assists in improving production
efficiencies which means meeting with customer requirements as
promised.
We use the latest CNC spring forming and wire forming machines.
These ensure accurate and constant products.
We specialise in manufacturing to customer drawings and all
products which require load testing are done so using
computerised test equipment. Print-outs of these results are
available on request.All test equipment, including tools used in
production, are calibrated to
SABS standards, on a regular
basis, ensuring accurate results on all products.
At E.E.Tarr, we do not only cater for the large orders, but
also manufacture one-offs, or small quantities for your
maintenance needs or whatever your application.
Every single order is checked by the Quality
Auditor prior to being delivered.
This type of work can be done using samples, drawings or customer
specifications. This type of work includes manufacturing wire
forms and a limited range of flat spring steel products (i.e.
metal pressings). A computerised design program has been
developed for designing compression, tension and torsion springs.
